BAHAMA BELLE

Sassy Sophisticate

Everyone wants to look nice right? But everyone can't afford shopping sprees right? But everyone still wants to look nice right? Right! It's really not about how much money you can afford to spend, it's about knowing: 1.) your body and what suits it 2.) knowing where to find a budget friendly shop for your body. So some people say OMG chile I can never shop in this place or that place.... well hey do you and whatever works for your pocket.... Start where you are until you can expand. This dress: ROSS baby... How much: $13.99...everything else old stuff that I keep well enough to always look new. So wherever your pockets are there is an outfit for you... unless you wanna kill yourself by trying to keep up with the joneses whom nobody really knows!!!

Blueberry

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo it's been a while.... well life has been happening to me...Youth Ambassador trip and some other bits and pieces of life. (I'll have to post some pics from the trip....which reminds me that I've been back a month and still haven't posted the rest of those pics....ohh life). Anyway....Hi...glad to be back, nice to look like a lady again...even though I was digging those snow pants and boots a bit. The blue in this dress is just spectacular makes me want to eat a muffin...which is the reason I probably couldn't fit this dress when I bought it last year...hmmm. Shoes are not the most comfy I'll be honest but they work....anywhooooo going to do some more life stuff!!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!!!!!!!!

Youth Ambassador Program

Hi Guys, well I never really talk about my personal life, I post outfits and that's pretty much it. But I'm learning that when  God blesses you, it is important to share so that others may see the work of God in your life. Last year I was selected as an adult participant of the YAP, when I got the email I literally did a happy dance. It's one of those opportunities that most people would do anything for and I'm blessed that I was the one selected to rep my country. So in a few hours  I will be flying to Colorado with 4 amazing students (Conrad, Kandise, Berthony, Catalina) who undoubtedly deserve this opportunity. It seems we are in for an experience of a life time, we have been told repeatedly, "get comfortable with being uncomfortable" hmmmm gosh. The program focuses on fostering leadership and presenting an action plan for leading change in our community. Well ...cold in The Bahamas is 65 degrees, therefore we cannot fathom what Colorado and DC temps will be like. I have been in cold weather but no where near to under 15F. One thing I am excited about though, yes I have seen snow but I have never been lucky enough to experience snow falling... Wish me luck!

Giving is a gift

Prior to the closing of school for the Christmas holidays, many of our students spoke of the things they wanted for Christmas. However, for many of them something as simple as a Christmas meal was an uncertain thing. One day someone during the Christmas season some one blessed me with a $100 as a thank you. When you look at $100 it in reality doesn't buy much. A bottle of perfume, make up or shoes maybe. Immediately I decided to use the money to purchase a few food items for a particular family. I then asked my Facebook friends to join me in spreading this Christmas cheer. Well let me just say, the support from my FB friends was just amazing. There were calls and messages coming out of the wood work from those wanted to donate. God is a good God and I believe he always sets us up with the people we need to do his will. Needless to say we ended up helping 5 families all of which had children living in the homes. It was such a great moment to see the joy on the kids faces when they saw the delicious treats. I strongly believe in giving back, because we are blessed to be a blessing.

HIGH VALUE WOMAN

On Saturday I went to a Progressive Lifestyle Dinner/Mixer Empowerment CHABANG and it was just fabulous. Let me start by saying congrats to Ms, Leticia McIntosh on bringing such an amazing vision to life. Did I mention she is my twin? hmmm how could you not know that? When I saw the first flyer I already knew I would be attending because fabulous women do fabulous things... then I saw the second flyer and saw that Sherika Brown was the guest speaker and I was like WOOOOHHHHH NELLY... that woman just knows what to say and how to say it. There was never a time that I have heard her speak that I didnt get an AH HA moment. As women we always invest in tangible things like clothes, shoes and weave but I feel the opportunity to be empowered is such a valuable investment. There are times when you need to be reminded of your value and your worth, there are times when we need to be encouraged to walk in our predestined place (we all have one) and there are times when you just need to be around your SISTAS (who I must add were dressed to the nines). By the way, this was actually the first time I tried on multiple things to wear, I always pick one thing and go with it....does this mean I am getting kinda oldish? I AM SHE..... A HIGH VALUE WOMAN AND I MAKE NO APOLOGIES!
